One of the most destructive forces in the world
In 2019 there were 4.5 million wildfires reported of more than 1 square kilometre, causing massive damage and huge cost, not least in terms of loss of life to both people and animals. Firefighters are put at great risk in these situations and considerable smoke and CO2 emissions are emitted. Firexo has developed its specialist fx73 wildfire extinguishant specifically to tackle such fires by creating a barrier with excellent retardant capabilities and fertilising technology which helps bring soil back to its natural state.
Case Study
2019 Australia Bush Fire Facts
Water needed per acre: 102,789 LITRES
Overall size of fire: 860,000 acres
This meant that fire-fighters needed 88,398,540,000 litres of water to put the fire out, simply put they were unable to obtain this amount of water, so it was impossible for them to put the fire out
Total Monetary cost $7.78B
- 29 people dead
- $780m cost of fire
- 2.5b Animals lost
- $33m daily disruption
- 210 days fire burnt
By comparison, its estimated:
- 514 litres of FX73 solution per acre – 2/3 x less
- Could of stopped the fire growing outwards in 15 days
- Fully stopped in 30 days
- Potential total size of fire of 61,000 acres instead of 860,000.
Firexo FX73 Firefighting Media
FX73 firefighting media provides a groundbreaking and improved way for governments and fire rescue services to tackle surface, ground and crown base Wildfires. With outstanding retardancy and extinguishing capabilities, FX73 allows those fighting the fire to control and prevent the expansion of a wildfire, before strategically advancing and tackling the fire in a more effective way than if water was used.
Key Benefits:
- FX73 is available in both Land and Air usage formulations.
- FX73 is a concentrate, meaning it can be diluted with water for a return of 3:1.
- FX73 has incredible fire retardancy capabilities, allowing you to block and prevent wildfire expansion via land breaks treated with the media.
Quality Standards / Accreditations:
Firexo have completed initial testing with the Dutch Fire Rescue Service and have engaged with VALABRE and CEREN to certify the media for global application and usage.
Firexo are also in the process of gaining a NATO number for the media, allowing it to be used by any of the NATO member states.
Key Sectors:
- Government / Private Fire Rescue Services
- Defense / Military Departments
- Farming / Agricultural
- Forestry & Land Organisations
- Environmental Protection Agencies
Delivery Methods:
- Land based appliances (fire engines, hoses, nozzles / monitors)
- Air based delivery via plane, helicopter or drone.
Capabilities:
- FX73 provides elevated firefighting capability compared to that of water, meaning less FX73 will need to be used in comparison to the traditional methods.
- FX73 can be applied to a manmade break to prevent the wildfire from advancing. The fire retardancy capabilities of FX73 mean that when pre-applied to a hay bale in testing, we physically could not light the hay bale to start the testing procedure. Applying FX73 to a woodland / forest environment will slow and ultimately block the progress of the wildfire.
- FX73 has regenerative and fertilizing capabilities, meaning land that has been treated with FX73 stands a better chance of regrowth following a fire.
- Fx73 is a fully patented solution, made only of naturally occurring and environmentally safe additives. The solution poses no threat to land or waterways post use.
- FX73 can be integrated into existing pump and fire appliance set-ups, no additional / specialist equipment is required for usage.
